What benefits have you found the internet has for your work?
The internet is great for information, inspiration, feedback, keeping up to date with the industry, bringing together crafters from around the world, through blogs. It really is amazing to have those resources.

What are two craft tools that you could not live without?
Two craft tools would have to be paper cutter, and blade.

Can you outline the typical process behind making something like the dream banner?
When I created the dream banner I had an idea of what I wanted to do in my head. I had the banner chipboard flags and was thinking how to use them. Then I came up with the idea of creating a banner for any room in the house. So I then chose my papers and worked from there matching ribbon and flowers and lace and making sure the colours blended and then played around with how to display it on each individual flag. I decided to make each flag identical to the next rather then different. I then chose the chipboard letter to match as they are already pink and added some embelishments to them to make them stand out more. I then put it togther writing down the step by step instructions as I went so that I could make it into a kit.

About how long did it take to make that?
To make the kit it was done over several days a bit at a time as there is drying time included. But all up a couple of hours.

Are there any business problems that you consider are unique to an art or craft business?
I guess the only unique problems would be that art and craft is so individual and caters only to those that are interested in it as a hobby. Its not like clothes for instance where everyone wears clothes and has a need for them. With craft you have a smaller portion of the market to deal with and that can be challenging.

Please describe the products you sell on your Koko Vanilla website.
The products we sell at Koko Vanilla Designs are an assortment of kits, both scrapbooking, cardmaking and project kits like the dream banner. There is also a range of products for individual sale for example stamp sets, chipboard. Finally I wanted a handmade department on site with already finished products such as gift cards and tags, invitations etc. So this is to cater to those customers who appreciate hand made items and want to buy the already finished product.
